Squirels

Sarah:
There are SOOooo many grey squirrels here, whenever I go to the park they come up to you and eat from your hand. Definitly destructive though, we can't leave our washing outside because they attack it.

There were loads of red squirrels here until a russian man brought the grey ones to Britain and the red ones were brutally murdered by them.

Really?  I don't think I ever saw a red squirrel where I live.  Only grey.
The squirrels  steal all the eggs from the bird nests around my house.  >:(
They steal all the seeds from the feeders.  :(
They even made the opening bigger on one of the birdhouses and moved in it.  :D

Yes it was the Bronx Zoo. Thanks for helping me out here Ari I was racking my brain trying to remember if it was there or in DC.  I remember seeing the Black squirrels there for the first time and was amazed since I never saw black squirrels before. I wonder why they are only in that part of the city? Washington  DC has them also.

Dr. Dan:
I've noticed in NYC, most squirrels are black and not brown like most other places. Now of course they are black here in NYC because there aren't as many trees and a lot of black tops and gray colored roads..and it is protective from the natural enemy, the Red-Tailed Hawk in these parts...

However, i find it to be funny...everytime i see one, I go up to it and say, "Yo! Whazzup!"
