Obviously, the blade shouldn't face the forearm. That would be stupid.
As long as the blade points away from the forearm, you cannot hurt yourself.

I used to take a knife with me when walked alone at night and was arrested here. Other time an anti-Semite (literally anti-Semite, because he mistook me for an Iraqui Semite, not a Jew -here some people think that Jews and Arabs are the same, and since the Gulf Wat on TV, they believe all semites are iraquis, haha) wanted to hurt me with a knife, I called the police, and they didn't arrest him!!!!!! I think, they are pretty good for not too lethal action. If you don't want to stab the person, you can use the closed action to hit a person with it?
