3 Of the freneticness ideals in the Postmodern thesis
« on: January 22, 2008, 01:28:12 PM »
Fashion, Oscar Wiled said, is so stupid that it needs to be replaced often. There are fashions in the world of philosophy, too. Those fashions are exceptional by their stupidity, for example: Postmodernism.

It's true, it's people's right to support fashions where ever they go. It's people's right to say that meaningless scribble is an art. Art, after all, sums by personal taste. But when these ideas come to science, history and law, the results are, in the good case, ludicrous. The postmodernism can damage any will to learn science, history and others, and it's impotent to explain this to the young people in the west's societies that science, history and others have no connection with postmodernism that makes our societies to atrophy. Let's test the amazing ideals of Postmodernism, and I will response to them:

1. There is no objective truth. Everyone has it's own truths and their are all true.
Really? So, according to this statement, the gas chambers never existed because of the fact that some people believe so. And because there is no objective truth and all truths are correct, there were no gas chambers, but in the same time, there were gas chambers. Why there were gas chambers but in the same time there were no gas chambers ? Because all the truths are true, and there is no objective truth, but can a truth that contradicted by other truth can be true ? No! Why? Because there can't be many truths and all truths are correct in the same time, gas chambers are a fact, people that don't believe in their existence are not correct, just because their truth is true according to postmodernism, doesn't change the fact that their "truth" is contradicted by reality.

2. Science, like art and litterateur, is a text that explained by the reader to oneself using deconstruction according to the reader's own will. The science is depends on the needs of the society and era, that's why there are no correct theories and incorrect theories.
Sounds very nice, truly, but such a statement can be said by people who don't have a clue what science is. By this type of saying every ignorant and uneducated people become scientists and talk nonesense with no interruption, because who would have the courage to say what this ignorant unidentified person is not true in a world that everything is true ? In this fashion there is a little defect: when the word "nonesense" is meaningless, when every person is right and no one can contradict the other, everything is meaningless. Imagine a soccer (or football) game that have no rules, everyone is a player, everyone is a referee and everyone can count the points by anyway he would like too, that's the ideal postmodern world.

3. Science depends on the culture it grew and it's theories and claims are valid in the framework of this society only. Scientific theories preserve the power in the ruling elite usually, White males.
This claim has a father, cold and brutal father that thought himself as a philosopher of science, Lenin. Also scientific theories, according to comrade Lenin, express the interest' of the ruling elite. His followers used his claims as a written proof for the horror acts they were doing to scientists and other people.

So, what happend since the days of Lenin and Stalin ? The Postmodernism, of course, doesn't send you to jail or to the GULAG, but the terror of PC (politically correct) shuts the mouths of many people in the media and the academies. In the last years universities in the USA had to open "Black's section" (oh, I'm sorry, Afro-American section), and women section and other "deprived" minorities' sections. It might have been a positive thing, but the problem is that those section got filled with babbler and untalented people that teach "alternative history", "alternative medicine", "alternative psychology" by the point of view of the "deprived" minorities. That's why you'll find lecturers that claims that George Washington was black and that William Shakespeare stole his ideas from a black writer. You wouldn't found anyone of the mainstream institutions criticise this "facts", and everyone that does gets a reward of adjectives as "racist", "sexist" and more.

Well, there are a lot more stupid ideals in the Postmodern thesis, but this are the main of them as far as I know. Tell me what do you think about my responses and of you would like to do so, response yourself.

Not a foreign land we took and not with foreign possession but a land that belong to our ancestors that was occupied without a trial. And when we had the opportunity, we took our land back.

How true, Dexter. Typical potmodern claptrap. That's where all the moral relativism of today's leftists comes from.

Dexter, you are right on. You just summed up the liberal mentality very nicely.
