IT IS JUST SHORT FOR JAPANESE IN THE SAME WAY "BRIT" IS SHORT FOR BRITISH AND "SCOTT" IS SHORT FOR SCOTTISH. "NIP" IS THE EQUIVALENT OF "N*GGER", NOT "JAP".

Read some of the Yank newspapers from the WWII era.  'Jap this' and 'Jap that'.

When was the last time a newspaper used the word 'Jap' instead of 'Japanese'?  Sometime in the 1940's.

We used the Word 'Jap' in our newspapers back then because we were at war and we didn't give a damn about what our enemies thought.
