NZ police detain Dr Philip Nitschke

Police arrested controversial Australian doctor and euthanasia campaigner Philip Nitschke at Auckland airport this afternoon.
Dr Nitschke told The Age that police took him to an office at the airport and read him his rights.
"I'm sitting here surrounded by Customs officials," Dr Nitschke said.
Dr Nitschke said he had in his possession two books about euthanasia that had pages blacked out.
The books had been seized, he said.
Dr Nitschke said while in New Zealand he intended to show the books to the country's chief censor, Bill Hastings.
Darwin-based Dr Nitschke was released after three hours in custody.
Police confiscated his books and props he was going to use in a series of workshops on euthanasia in New Zealand in the next few days.
The workshops would go ahead, but would be "more sterile" as he no longer had the props, Dr Nitschke said.
The matter remains under investigation by New Zealand authorities.
