Lending Money to non-Noahide Gentiles- Forbidden?
« on: February 10, 2008, 06:47:30 AM »
I was wondering if it may be a sin to lend money, or pay a wage or debt in advance to a Gentile who is known for not keeping the Noahide Laws..... After all that Gentile may use that money to commit a sin. Just some examples: travelling to meet a lover forbidden to him or her, buying idolatry articles, buying an animal and slaughtering it unpropetly (leading to Ever min HaChai), going to a court and give false testimony, or, the worst of all, having an abortion made or buying a medicine thet can be used to purposedly lead to a miscarrage!
What do you think?
And what about lending to an heretic non observant Jew?

(*not necessarily official Halacha- but my opinion)- I think it is allowed, and you can take interest from him/her. The reason is because if you dont give it, they can take from someone else anyway (just like in the case of selling a building). + a Jew isn't responsible for the sins of a gentile.
The second part is a lot more complicated. Officially one can take interest, but it is not done today because it would cause a lot more problems (for example if he made tishuva in the middle, you have to return the interest, and a lot more complicated concideration would go into it).

The Academy of Elijah taught, whoever studies the laws (of the Torah) every day, (he) is guaranteed to have a share in the World to Come.

‏119:139 צִמְּתַתְנִי קִנְאָתִי כִּישָׁכְחוּ דְבָרֶיךָ צָרָי
My zeal incenses me, for my adversaries have forgotten Your words.
‏119:141 צָעִיר אָנֹכִי וְנִבְזֶה פִּקֻּדֶיךָ, לֹא שָׁכָחְתִּי.
I am young and despised; I have not forgotten Your precepts.

" A fool does not realize, and an unwise person does not understand this (i.e. the following:) When the wicked bloom like grass, and the evildoers blossom (i.e. when they seem extremly successful), it is to destroy them forever (i.e. they are rewarded for their few good deeds in this World, and they will have no portion in the World to Come!)
