It is written to blot out the memory of Amalek.  Yet, if we blot out from our memory of Amalek, won't history potentially repeat itself?

Therefore, if we should never forget what Amalek did to us, what does it mean to say "blot out the memory of" ?

There are many debates as to who Amalek are in today's world/times.  I've asked my Rabbi this question as Amalek should and, like the Erev Rav in my opinion, should be wiped out to the last.  I'll translate this to all Jew haters....   Shabbat Shalom Achi...

That's a good question.  What exactly does the blot out the memory part mean, and in what relation to killing every last one of them.  Perhaps the memory can only be blotted out AFTER there is no remnant left and no chance to revive amalek nation.  I don't know, if you know any rabbis ask one.  Maybe ask on the ask judea Torah show.  He seems to know his stuff.

Don't blot out the history or the lessons learned.  Blot out the name of Amalek and all the evil people who come after him.  His name is not important and he shouldn't be remembered.  But it should be remembered that a man like him existed.  I hope that makes sense.
