Yes he was converted by the Pope in Rome.He was an Egyptian and a newspaper editor in Rome he was married to an Italian Catholic lady  for many yrs ,he was also very pro Israel for many yrs and has had many death threats over the yrs.He decided Islam was a very evil cult
