Belgrade, April 23, 2008 – Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica commented that EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn’s statement about establishing good-neighbourly relations between Serbia and Kosovo, represents the official position of Brussels.
In a written statement, Kostunica underlined that the statement by the EU Enlargement Commissioner is obviously the position of Brussels and that by signing the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) Serbia recognises Kosovo’s independence and commits itself to cooperate with this fictitious state.
He said that no one has the right to sign the SAA on behalf of Serbia since it is unconstitutional and its overt intention is the dismemberment of Serbia.
Now it is completely clear that Solana’s agreement is the final act of the project to create the first NATO state, started by the bombing of Serbia, arming of the Kosovo Liberation Army, construction of Bondsteel and drafting of Ahtisaari’s plan, which ensures that the commander of NATO troops would be the supreme organ of authority in Kosovo, Kostunica said.
According to him, Serbia’s response must be that its constitution should be consistently respected and that it will continue with its principled policy that Kosovo is Serbia, which is supported by more than 150 states around the world.
