How much Israeli society has changed over the last forty years is very disturbing...the larger part of it from wanting so much to emulate and copy America.

To give you an idea of just how "square" Israelis used to be...I remember Prime Minister Golda Meir's speech imploring Israeli youth not to listen to The Beatles; warning them that such music was a "foreign, negative, and un-Jewish" influence.
