Who are these people, in comparison to a Holy Jew. Now that is someone that is really famous, and much easily accessible. One can go meet a Talmid Hacham much easier then all the losers from Hollywierd.
The Academy of Elijah taught, whoever studies the laws (of the Torah) every day, (he) is guaranteed to have a share in the World to Come.

‏119:139 צִמְּתַתְנִי קִנְאָתִי כִּישָׁכְחוּ דְבָרֶיךָ צָרָי
My zeal incenses me, for my adversaries have forgotten Your words.
‏119:141 צָעִיר אָנֹכִי וְנִבְזֶה פִּקֻּדֶיךָ, לֹא שָׁכָחְתִּי.
I am young and despised; I have not forgotten Your precepts.

" A fool does not realize, and an unwise person does not understand this (i.e. the following:) When the wicked bloom like grass, and the evildoers blossom (i.e. when they seem extremly successful), it is to destroy them forever (i.e. they are rewarded for their few good deeds in this World, and they will have no portion in the World to Come!)

Agreed; meeting such people, such as Rav Kahane and others, would be a much more meaningful experience, but the question was what it was. Meeting a famous person is in and of itself nothing special, unless they add something to your life which is beneficial.

I don't remember his title.

He was the guy (king?) with the Perrier air.

Way back in my wild days of youth, we threatened Joey Ramone and chased him down 3rd Ave. we really were not going to harm him, just had to much "spirits" that night.
Also ran into Carly Simon getting out of a taxi with another lesbo, we made a few derogatory remarks, she made some back, end of story.
Later on, when I became a good boy, at a little league awards banquet, I coached and ran youth sports programs for many years, we had Neil Allen of the NY Mets as the guest of honor. He actually stayed after it was over shooting the breeze with the coaches and actually helped us put away the tables.
Years earlier, Ed Kranepool of the NY Mets was the guest. He spoke a little, then dinner came. After dinner he was supposed to present some awards to the kids. He excused himself to use the bathroom. After dinner there was no sign of Kranepool, he skipped out.
I met Rudy Guiliani when he first ran for mayor, I was eating in the Waterfront Crabhouse, he was leaving, I was entering.
Also, Carol Alt in Flushing Meadows at a Queens day festival, she was with her then boyfriend, NY Rangers Ron Duguay, it was that long ago.
As some here have said though, big deal.
I work with a Bangli muslim who admitted he would blow himself up on a bus, did I mention I work in a bus depot, I am sure he will also be famous someday.
In the beginning of a change, the patriot is a scarce man. Brave, hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.

I once met former pro-wrestler Ricky Steamboat at a shopping mall in North Carolina.  He was buying coffee.  Very nice man.  If your not a wrestling fan, I guess you wouldn't consider him famous.

I met Rodney Dangerfield in Las Vegas.
He was walking around, in the hotel lobby, in a hotel robe (no pants just black socks).  :::D

My sister's boyfriend was working in an auto parts shop when Marvin Zindler walked in. Everyone in the shop was really excited to see him, and since he's from California, not Houston, Texas, he had no idea who the guy even was. When he told us he'd seen him, I was kind of impressed. lol

I liked Zindler a lot because he was such a humanitarian person. I was really sad when I'd heard he died.

Met OJ back in the day when he was "cool".

Also met Al Sharpton in an airport two Christmases ago...Should have stuck out my tongue at him.
