Anybody Here Ever Own a Horse?

I like horses but I think I would be a little afraid to own one. I saw a lady on a talk show once who had gotten her upper lip bitten off by one of her horses. Then of course there was Christopher Reeve...

Maybe a little Shetland pony would be ok or one of those miniature horses meant to be pets.

One time I went to an amusement park as a child and there was this little thing where ponies were tied in a circle and you could ride them lke a carousel except they were real ponies. I was excited and started running up to one and the next thing I knew I was on the ground on my back. I didn't feel it kick me or anything. I was ok, but kind of shocked.

Geez, bit the lip off, Ruby, not good.  What happened to Christopher Reeves and his family (his wife died of cancer soon after him) was a tragedy.  I was thinking about that the other day when I was on a Reeves Avenue in NY.  I once rode a horse as a kid, and he went nuts for some reason, and darted out of control speeding past a tree, and I had to duck or my eye would have been taken out.  Other than that, I like them.

Well to balance the hatred, my father loves horses  I love moose and reindeer though!

My grandpa had a farm and had many horses, we rode them quite often.

Yes, it was a Stallion- FAST but mean. His name was Pepper, I got thrown, and was SO mad, that I just kept getting up on the horse, until it OBEYED me. Remember: we have dominion
