Italy: Arabic translation of Constitution

"We have translated the constitution to increase immigrants' awareness of the laws that govern civic life in Italy." That's good. In Europe today, even the idea that Muslim immigrants have an obligation to obey the laws of the land is good -- and rare. But this will, of course, not be enough, since the problem is not that the immigrants are unaware of the laws, but that they have contempt for them.

Palermo, 2 May (AKI) - Catholic charity Caritas will on Tuesday present an Arabic translation of the Italian constitution in a bid to help immigrants integrate in the southern city of Agrigento.
Caritas will distribute the Arabic translation to schools, offices, and public bodies in Agrigento in southern Sicily.

It is the iniative of the archbishop of Agrigento, Monsignor Carmelo Ferraro. Caritas' office in the diocese of Agrigento helped to supervise the translation.

"Immigrants are welcome in our country, but they have a duty to respect Italian laws," said local Caritas' director, Vito Scilabra.

"We have translated the constitution to increase immigrants' awareness of the laws that govern civic life in Italy."

The church should deal with issues that pertain to the church and let Italy run its affairs of state on their own. It's not that the Italian government might not put out a translation like this anyway but the church seems to be at the root of many problems when it comes to subversive elements that creep into countries. Just look at all the aiding and abetting they  give the illegals here in America.

To be honest I myself did not know what caritas was. Until I searched them out this morning I had never heard of it before. I agree with your opinion on them.

Why don't we make a new English translation of the Quran and make Jews out to be the good guys and have Jesus beat up Muhammad Chuck Norris style?
