Or course, comments not directed to Chaim will be moved into a separate thread under The General Discussion.

Chaim has stated that only one short question or comment per poster will be answered. Please remember that even with these rules, the program is over 2 hours long every week! Chodesh Tov and Chag Yom Yerushalayim Sameach,

Moadim LeSimcha LeGeulah Shelemah!

I think 5 Iyar can be celebrating the victory of The Etzel and Lechi over England but the miracle we celebrate is the victory over The Arabs. Al HaNissim mentions Arabs but not The British. 5 Iyar wasn't the end of the war. There was fighting for half a year before and about a year afterwards. So 5 Iyar commemorates the turning point when we became independent and fought as an independent state. But perhaps Al HaNissim should be amended to mention Rashut HaAnglit (HaBritit) HaRashat instead of Arav HaRasha. Do you like this idea?

I'm posting this for Yacov Menashe Ben Rachamim.

Please read the entire following comment out loud. I know you need Rabbinic approval but comment afterwards on what you think of my proposal it if it was up to you.

I think we should move up Yom HaZikaron to Thursday when 5 Iyar is Friday or Shabbat following the precedence of when we move up a fast day before a festival to Thursday such as The Fast of Esther and The Fast of Firstborn when it would have fallen on Shabbat. If 5 Iyar is a Friday, the religious aspects should be on Friday with the government ceremonies moved a day early or moved to Sunday. As it is now, Yom Ha'Atzmaut is only actually observed on 5 Iyar when it falls on a Wednesday. As of 2004, if it is on a Monday, it is moved to Tuesday so Yom HaZikaron won't be on Motza'ei Shabbat but that can be solved by starting the ceremonies late after Shabbat.

Dear Chaim,

Since Jewish matchmakers are so good at what they do, why don't you go to one? You have said that you want to get married and have kids.

Thanks,
David Ben Ze'ev Aryeh.

Greetings Chaim. Do you think that other nations besides the Jews were also created with a certain purpose in mind for their people to contribute to the world?

Hello Chaim,
We already saw how that nazi swine Frank Weltner distorts history and tries to blame the Jews for the Armenian Genocide.
He made a video on zootube and I'm glad his account has been suspended.
However, there are many people [not historians] but ordinary ignorant people who hold Frank Weltners views that Mustafa Rataturk and Talat Pasha were Jewish Zionists.
Those people ignore the fact that those Ottoman leaders were MUSLIMS and not JEWS.

My question is,
how important is it for Jews and righteous gentiles to know the historical facts about those Ottoman leaders' NOT being Jews? How can we expose the lies and show Christian Armenians and Greeks and other victims of muslim turks that Jews weren't the culprits and reduce the number of Jew haters among those Christians? Have you ever made a video response to Frank Weltner's accusations?

Best Wishes.

Hi Chaim,

I had a look at one of your hebrew video. Zelhar put english subtitles on (great idea).

It's the video where you explain the differences between Rabbi Kook and Rabbi Kahane views on the intentions of the Israeli socialists .

My question: You said that influential leaders from the Gush Katif communities plotted against JTF supporters (removal from an Hotel etc) during the expulsion. Why is this?

Is JTF working with the current leaders of the settlements?

Shalom Chaim,

Do you think G-d judges members of the opposite sex we are interested in and are rude and abusive to us for no reason? It's one thing to not have commonalities with someone, and it's another to treat someone like dirt for it. Here in Cali, and I suspect in the entire nation, this is an epidemic problem. Girls here will either refuse to even speak to you (and I am talking about the religious ones) or will pretend to be your friend and then stab you in the back later.

I am sure feminism has something to do with this, but either way, it pisses me off.

Dear Chaim,

What is your opinion about credit bureaus, credit rating system and lenders sanctioning loans based on credit scores?  Are they Marxist ideas or conservative concepts?

Thanks in advance!

Shalom Chaim

I have a deep question this week so I'll word it as well as possible:

In the Adam and Eve story, Gd only proclaimed that they should not eat from a certain tree.  When the serpeant came along, it said, "Does anything happen when you even touch the fruit?"  From that point it led to Adam and Eve eating from the tree.

First, I wonder when Eve touched the forbidden fruit, she ate it because she was tempted by the feeling of the fruit, or if she realized nothing came of touching it and therefore, eating it would cause no punishment.

Now, in the Talmud, the rabbis recommended that we build "fences around the Torah  and sanctify them" in order to prevent temptation of breaking any commandments. However, it seems that some religious Jews wish that those very fences become commandments and not simply recommendations.  Do you think that it is a very likely potential that a "serpeant" might come along and do the same thing it did to Adam and Eve?  That is, to tempt a fellow religious Jew in crossing his fence and causing him to sin?  How would you go about showing religious and non religious Jews about the beauty of these fences without making it like they will die, Gd forbid, if they decide to create a different one for themselves?

Thank you

Dr. Dan

Shalom Chaim,

Why are so many college professors politically correct far left BolsheviKKKs? In some colleges, black professors teach black African American studies, and talk about how the white man is "to blame and inferior", I'm shocked they allow this type of Afrocentric rhetoric, nonsense and propaganda, as some other places wouldn't have tolerated these studies particularly in the South a long time ago. Chaim, we need to bring back colleges to a moral, righteous and conservative education system.

G-d Bless,

Dear Chaim,

It seems that Smolmert is going to end up resigning as PM and that PeePee will come to power again. For some strange reason Israel ends up forfeiting land only when the so-called conservatives are in power [i.e., Begin and Sharon] and not when the socialists are in power. Can you comment on this phenomenon?

Thank you again and best regards,

Ben Yehuda

It seems unfair that you do such an admirable job for Israel and Israel doesn't allow you to enter your own homeland even for a brief visit.  Do you ever get exasperated and think, "they are ungrateful and 'to heck' with them and this whole thing" and do you ever consider doing something else for the rest of your life?

Hello Brother Chaim,

We have seen all of us in our lifetime this world wide Jihad where anywhere in the world Islam has put its feet in has been nothing but bloodshed, terror and the most ignorant obsessive barbarism on the face of the Earth and yet all countries who have seen what Islam is about refuse to throw these Muslims out and bulldoze the mosques and madrassas?  They are the ones that are causing every problems in the world right now and everyone is afraid of offending them.  I don't understand what is this insane suicidal need to appease to these vicious beasts who want to see everyone of us dead and yet the west wants to play and kiss their rears?

Hello Chaim,

What is your opinion of David Ben Gurion?  What was his role (or lack thereof) in helping the Jews of Europe escape the holocaust?  In your opinion did he sabotage rescue efforts (particularly the Hungarian Jewry case, or any others) ?

Shalom Chaim and thank you as always for your hard work and answering my questions?

I am sure you are aware the Bush administration is pushing for a nuclear deal with Saudi Arabia that will allow the Saudis to have a nuclear power plant. This is a deal that definitely will be followed up on by a John McCain presidency. What will JTF do to oppose this deal and what do you believe a righteous Israeli government would do?

Would all options including a military options be on table under a righteous Israeli government even if it was an American built nuclear reactor? What would the potential backlash be for Jews in the U.S.?

Dear Chaim:

Why do some people still believe in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion and why do they still believe in a worldwide Jewish conspiracy to control the world?  Haven't they figured out that The Protocols were a forgery.  The writings were originally printed by Maurice Joly in France and was meant to criticize Napolean III and Machiavelli.  After he was arrested in Belgium, the writings found their way into Germany and then into Imperial Russia, replacing the above two with so called Jewish Masonists.  So all of these worldwide Zionist conspiracy theorists base their entire arguments on a forgery.  My question is why do these people keep believing in that garbage?
Me: Muslims get offended too easily.

Dear Reb Chaim,

Is their something in the Jewish psyche – artificial – as a result of persecution and harassment – that causes many Jews to be fearful and sacred? Unlike Kahanists, many Jews understandably due to thousands of years of pogroms and oppression – fail to stand up and fight, when required and take the risk for their and their brothers’ and sisters’ sake.  Were the ancient, biblical giant’s fighters and is there no precedent to many Jews being weak and wimpy?
Thanks and Chag Yom Yerushalayim Same'ach!

I hope to make my question as short as possible!!
My question is about this Croat named Jakov Sedlar on the right side of the picture.

Jakov Sedlar is a Croatian movie maker who likes to visit Israel.
He recently made a movie in which he blackmails the Serbs and honors Croatia’s ex president Franjo Tudjman. This Croat claims that he personally likes Israel but in the same time he adores and glorifies Croatia’s former president Franjo Tudjman, who was an ordinary anti Semite and Serb hater, and this Croat Jakov Sedlar also has a good personal relationship with the singer of the Croatian Nazi band Thompson.

Let me remind that Croatia’s ex president Franjo Tudjman, who is glorified by this Croat who claims that he like the Jews, had described the holocaust in his book as a Jewish exaggeration! Croatia’s ex president also calls the Jews in his book arrogant people and minimizes the happenings of the holocaust, declaring that the Serbs and the Jews are using the circumstances from WW2 for their own interests. He also have said in public after he gained power in Croatia that he is very happy about the fact that his wife is neither a Jew or a Serb! Also I want to remind that after Tudjman’s arrival in Croatia, Croatian Nazi war criminals from WW2 were encouraged to return back to so called “free” Croatia. Squares and streets in the cities and places where the Croats are the majority were dedicated to and named after the political and ideological leaders of the Nazi Croatian government.

It is not a coincidence that in 1990 when the party of Franjo Tudjman gained control over Croatia immediately 200.000 Serbs left the areas who were under the direct control of the new Croatian government.

Chaim, what you think of this Croat Jakov Sedlar and what is a man like him searching in Israel? Should this man be allowed to enter Israel? Thanks Chaim!

Chaim,
I found the video link below of McCain screaming at a family member of a US serviceman missing in action in Vietnam at a congressional subcomittee. Do you think he has anything to hide? I find it rather strange that he doesn't want to look into the POW issue..Do you think there are any POWs left in Vietnam today?

Chaim,

I personally try to be a good person and I try to uphold the commandments and be devout to G-d.
I realize material possessions are not very important and that is not the way we will be judged.
However I have a desire to someday have nice possessions (car, home ect.)
Is it consistent with Judaism to live a comfortable lifestyle and have material possessions?
Thank you very much and may G-d bless you all JTF members.

Hi Chaim,

is Christianity blasphemous from a Jewish point of view?

Islam is blasphemous from a Christian point of view. Sometimes when I try to convince a "Christian" of this, his response is that the relationship of Christianity to Islam is like the relationship of Judaism to Christianity. I don't think it is, but since I have never read the bible from a Jewish perspective I don't know for sure.

So are there any Jewish movements that consider Christianity blasphemous?

Chaim shalom rav,

There is an Dubai Arab who calls himself Obaid Karki who managed to produce over a 1000 videos the last year. He even addressed you in one of his videos.

He likes to speak calmly and present Islam as a tolerant, diverse religion and the Arabs as peaceful people. It seems that he also likes to address Americans and Israelis. and what's stranger is that he is against Obama but he likes Ron Paul.

What do you think of this guy, if you heard of him?

Here is the video where he addresses you:
