A great artcile by Martha Gellhorn, written in1964. Some things are no longer applicable but the article is still very relevant. It confirmed many things I thought to be true about Germany and Germans.
I couldn't agree more with this great line:
"Twice their victors have imposed "democracy" on a people who never fought for it themselves."

Based on this article, I suspect that Pheasant may feel a stranger in his own country.
