A lot of people have different definitions for capitalism. I believe in free markets, but with certain checks and balances to avoid monopolies and encourage competition.

You might know more about this than I do. I know in general what capitalism, socialism, communism, etc. are but as to specific groups within the general philosophies I probably need to learn a lot more.

I have a big problem with her ideas concerning individualism. Maybe I misunderstand what I read about her, but it seems as if she advocated a sort of self-serving philosophy which excludes things like nationalism (Zionism is an example of nationalism).

I do think that individuals' rights need to be respected, and individual lives should be valued, but people also have a duty to serve more than just themselves. They have a duty to their own family and nation and to consider the rights of other people they encounter.

Her philosophy is eerily reminiscent of LaVeyan satanism, which takes a self-serving "me worship" approach to reality.

--- Quote from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Objectivism_(Ayn_Rand) ---My philosophy, in essence, is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute.

—Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged[5]

In fact LaVey used her as an inspiration.

--- Quote from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laveyan_satanism ---LaVeyan Satanism, also referred to as Atheistic Satanism and Agnostic Satanism, was founded in 1966 by Anton LaVey. Its teachings are based on individualism, self-control, and "eye for an eye" morality, drawing influences from the rituals and ceremonies of occultist Aleister Crowley, and the philosophies of Friedrich Nietzsche and Ayn Rand.

In short I think she was evil.

No I think at this point in history it wouldn't accomplish anything. There are huge differences in culture between the "red states" and the "blue states" but secession isn't really necessary. A recognition of state's rights and the ability of each state to be more sovereign than it is now, with a weaker federal government (Except for the military) would solve the problem much easier.

Unfortunately in my retail jobs I've been forced to interact with them. Earlier in this thread are a couple of Muslim stories that you can read.

I try to avoid them as much as possible though.
