Ask JTF for Sunday, September 28, 2008.
« on: September 21, 2008, 03:09:43 AM »
People, know that although Chaim would love to answer all of your questions, owing to time constraints he can only address one brief question/comment per poster per week. Thank you for understanding this.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shalom Chaim,

How do Israel's self-hating elites (in the gov't, media, and corporate/academic worlds) view the Hitler worshipper, Fag Buchanus (ys"vz)? I assume they must like him a lot, because he wants Israel to commit national suicide and favors whatever will kill the most Jews. How do you think Buchanus would be received by Israel's Bolsheviks if he visited in order to urge them to keep pursuing suicide? Would Creepy Lesbi's (yimach schma vezichra) Kadima kapo government roll out the red carpet for this Nazi pig? Would Livni herself prostrate herself before him?

G-d bless you,
Chaimfan

Chag Sameach Chaim

Please give us an account of your typical Friday night shabbat and Saturday.  Do you have shabbat dinner with family, friends, or alone? Do you go to shul? etc etc etc.  I was also curious if in the mornings when you wear t'fillin you pray alone or in a Minyan.

Thank you

Greetings Chaim. This week my question is about the piece of dough that is supposed to be separated from the rest of the dough as a tithe to the Cohanim. Does this rule apply if someone is a Cohen? Do they still have to separate it if say they're making the bread for their large family? I asked muman and a couple of other Jewish people in our chat room and they didn't know either.

Dear Chaim, how are non-Muslims treated in Malaysia which is mainly a Muslim country? Besides having Malay Muslims, you have Chinese Buddhists, Indian Hindus and Eurasian Christians living in that country.

                      Can you please tell us more about what Judaism says in regards to 'The Next World' to come and how detailed does the Torah and Talmud go into explaining it?

Shalom Chaim:

Did you manage to see the debate between McCain and Obama? Either online or a recording of it? If so, what is your take on it? Also, as we're on the subject of debates; have you ever debated an intellectual before?

As always you're a gentleman and a scholar.

Why do liberals want globalization of everything as well as multiculturalism? The two are both contradicting, and all liberals are hypocritical at what they do and say.

Hello Chaim,

This may not be very relevant, but I've been perplexed by this for some time.  The US DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) has included in its list of 8 critical languages, Hebrew and Japanese.  I can understand why the other languages would be included, such as Spanish, Chinese, Arabic... but really do not know why Hebrew and Japanese are included.  [Japan has an extremely low drug use rate, and research shows the drugs in Japan especially amphetamines come from North Korea, where the rogue state manufactures them. Yet Korean is not a critical language, according to the DEA.]  I was wondering if you maybe knew why Hebrew is included.

Thank you!

This is the order the DEA's list, which seems to me be in order of importance because it is not in alphabetical order.

    * Spanish
    * French
    * Russian
    * Hebrew
    * Arabic
    * Dialects of Nigerian Languages
    * Chinese/Mandarin
    * Japanese

The wealthiest 1% pay 40% of the federal income tax and this doesn't include astronomical corporate, estate and other indirect taxes therefore at least a significant portion of the bailout that these bankers are getting is their own over taxed money. I'm reluctant to believe that they use loopholes to avoid taxes because this propaganda comes from communists and socialists. I don't believe the government should ever bail out companies but I also don't think the wealthy should be overtaxed. I also heard the Bush administration wanted minorities to own more homes so they supported these bad loan polices. I don't see why the executives should be tried when the government promoted the "corruption." What do you think about the bailout, prosecuting the executives, and do you believe they really use loopholes to avoid taxes?

Do you think the governments ties with corporations is evidence that one of the reasons for the Iraq war could've been oil? Oil prices are high and they aren't getting that cheap oil yet but before they invaded they didn't think they'd be in this mess either.

Shalom Chaim, I posted this week, not sure it posted. here's the question again. i have a Friend of mine who like me is an admirer of the late great Meir Kahane. Yeas ago he legally changed his surname to Kahane. He says he is supporting Obama, I told him that is an insult to Kahane's memory, and told him to legally change his surname. He says he no longer on speaking terms with me. your opinion?

Dear Mr. ben Pessach,

what is your oppinion on hotpots in cans in general?

I have a very robust stomach and nearly no problems with any food, even very heavy dishes.

But if I eat this, even light chicken soup, I have stomachaches. But if I cooked it by myself fresh all is fine.

So I quit buying these food, althrough I am a little skinflint and they are normally very cheap.  :'(

Sincerly,

Ulli

Hello Chaim,

Do you think Obama winning the presidency will herald a new golden age of black criminality? I read a story about some scummy black criminals who screamed "OBAMA, OBAMA!" when captured by the police and cannot help but think Obama will become a patron saint for black criminals. We see muslim nazis all around the world scream the names of their terrorist leaders and it seems like a symmetrical situation. Do you think many blacks are hoping they can turn the White House and America into one big housing project when that negro monster Obama wins?

The city isn't what it used to be. It all happened so fast. Everything went to crap. It's like... everyone's sense of morals just disappeared. Bad economy made things worse. Jobs started drying up, then the stores had to shut down. Then a black man was elected president. He was supposed to change things. He didn't. More and more people turned to crime and violence... The town becomes gripped with fear. Dark times, dark times... I am the hero this town needs. I am... The Coon!!!

Dear Chaim,

I have an ethical question this week.  Is it right to separate the art from the artist?  Let me explain what I mean.  Many people throughout cultural history, who have produced great works of art and music and so on, have been anti-Semitic to varying degrees.  There is no doubt that the works they have produced have enriched humanity.  But I have a hard time listening to the works of certain composers knowing that they hated the Jews.  The most famous and extreme example of this is that the works of Richard Wagner (ym"sh) are forbidden in Israel.  I happen to agree with this because there was a lot more to Wagner than his music.

I used to love listening to Stravinsky, but it is hard for me to do that now because of how he felt about my people.  If you feel that we should avoid at all costs taking in artistic works from anti-Semites, how far should we carry that?  Should Jews avoid listening to Bach, even though Bach was not an anti-Semite, but was a devout Lutheran and Luther was an anti-Semite?  I would not like to give up Bach but if Jewish Hallacic prinicples say I must, then I would.

Over time, I have found that people whose works I admired were or are enemies of the Jews.  Bit by bit, I have eliminated consuming those works, and I worry that if Jews only appreciated the works of those who were favourable to them, there would not be much left to look at or listen to.  As a musician and a Jew, this is a complicated issue for me and I could use your advice.  Should I separate the art from the artist?

Thanks as always,

Zachor_ve_kavod.

Chaim,
 I don't know why whenever there is a debate about Israel, people never bring up the fact that there were Jews in Israel even before 1948. They always try to say that Israel was populated by Arabs before 1948 and then all of a sudden all the Jews came from Europe to take over the land. But the fact of the matter is, that there were Jews there even during the Ottaman Empire and before. Why doesn't anyone bring this up as an argument for Jewish rights to the land of Israel?

Zachor_ve_kavod,

What a fascinating yet disturbing post.  You say, "As a musician and a Jew, this is a complicated issue for me and I could use your advice.  Should I separate the art from the artist?"

Yes.  If you can get past it.  Personally, being a female, I would have difficulty forgetting, and for other reasons as well.  My personality for instance would probably not allow me to listen to anti-semites.  I would be seething, steaming, you know what I mean.  Maybe, more than likely, I am a type A personality.

Enough about me.  Take a little time.  Perhaps even make a list of the pros on one side and the cons on the other side of a legal pad.  Work on your list and a conclusion you are happy with will come to you intuitively....maybe a better word is from the heart.

Best wishes to you, Zachor_ve_kavod.

Hi Chaim,

First off I had an idea for a slogan for JTF bumper stickers, posters and banner ads on other websites:

It is:

"Who Would King David Bomb?"
Visit www.JTF.Org

Shamgar wants to print some up to distribute but I thought we should ask you first if we put the JTF name on it.

Question:  Is Armageddon a Jewish concept?  I have heard that this world only appears in the Christian Bible...If so, what is the Jewish equivalent? Is it called 'The War of Gog Magog'? Is it incorrect for a Jew to refer to this as Armageddon? I know it has something to do with Megiddo.

Thanks.

Do self-hating anti-Palin Jews, like the disgusting Sandra Bernhard, contribute to anti-semitism?
