"Liberal fascism" a fascinating talk by Jonah Goldberg
« on: October 11, 2008, 07:44:01 PM »
When I heard of this new book by Johna Goldberg "liberal fascism", I thought it would focus primarily on how the left today suppresses any opposing viewpoints, (in a style akin to fascism).  The book may actually be about this but this talk is not.  Goldberg describes how early 20th century fascism was actually a leftist phenomenon.  Goldberg points out that communism was a world type of ideology whereas fascism had its roots in nationalism, but that in terms of policy, fascism and socialism were very similar.

This talk is in 6 parts and then there is Q and A.  I'll provide here the link for the first section.  I think a historical understanding of the left's creation of 20th century fascistic movements is important, as it certainly helps put modern liberalism in context.

Goldberg also dispells the notion that multi national corporations are capitalist entities.  They are in fact all for fascism, as they only want competition for those who cannot compete with them.  Chaim talked about this a few weeks back.

I knew fascism was left-wing!  Did anybody else think so too? ^-^
Me: Muslims get offended too easily.
Muslim: What!?  That is an outrage!  Take that back or I kill you!
