Dear Chaim

What is your view of those who advocate a gold standard: Lew Rockwell, Ludwig von Mises, Murray N Rothbard et al?  When you take power in Israel will we have a gold standard or will you we a central bank that is permitted to print fiat money?  My degree is in economics and I know all about the mainstream view, which says that the gold standard is a bad idea.  But the idea of falling prices every year as would happen with a gold-backed currency sounds like a utopia.

Comment: My father [whom I have not gotten back YET on speaking terms with] keeps on saying that Britain is a ‘Malchus Shel Chessed’ and the ‘best country on to live in’, ‘we are so lucky’, he wouldn’t go elsewhere. He recently went to Israel, which was a 25 year gap since he paid a visit to that county last. He says that he would go ‘every so often’ – maybe once a year to the Holy Land. 

Question - I get very upset when he says that. I do not know why he has such a twisted and blinded vision – is a ghetto ‘Diaspora’ mentality? What do you think is behind it? Unfortunately he is quite an ‘aksion’ said: ak-shern – “stubborn”.

Why is it that you sometimes talk about the need for Jews to save Western Civilization?
Isn't Western Civilization the antithesis of Judaism, which is a separate civilization onto itself?

Do you not feel somewhat glad the Europeans are facing immanent destruction for their sins against Hashem?
If Jews save them are they not setting themselves up for another betrayal because at the end of the day Western Civilization just like Islam seeks to impose it's will around the world and instead of spreading the Koran, it seeks to spread what it calls Globalization?

      In Gemara Sanhedrin we learn that Bar Kochba's initial avera that prevented him from becoming Mashiach was his alliance with the Goy Samaritans. From this the Rambam learns that it is issur to make alliances with Goy nations. On the other hand purchasing weapons and services from Goyim is permissable, do you think that a alliance between Jews and Christians is basically the same Avera of Bar Kochba?


      I have to disagree with your statements about various Jews not being in Shamayim, as I am sure you recall from Gemara Sanhedrin there are only two very specific averot which prevent a Jew from having a place in Olam HaBa, the first being marriage to Goyim, and the second being treason to the Jewish people. Treason is further defined, surrendering land, turning Jews over to Goyim, insulting Goyim, even if they are righteous is certainly not included in treason. So unless you can prove with proper witnesses that Jews committed treason, or married Goyim saying they have no place in Olam Haba is issur.

As of this writing, 15 British soldiers have been detained by Iran at a place called Shatt al-Arab. Ironic, huh. Do you think that Iran will hold them for a long time to rub the West's face in it. Or do you think this is a non-incident. It seems to me that Iran wants a war with the west, badly. They seem to be doing everything they can to make it happen. What do you think?

Also, do you think that it would have been good if those Bat Ayin guys had succeeded in bombing that Muslim Nazi Girls school? And do you think that a kahanist government would secretly support similar actions?
