The reason?

In Alaska they still pay each citizen $2,000 from the oil revenues.  There is also no state income tax.

I'd say move to Ketchikan, Wasilla, Homer, or Eagle River.  You'd be amazed how nice it is there!!!!

If Saturn had welfare they'd already be there.  When Minnesota created all their economic justice packages, blacks from Chicago got on Greyhounds with all their kids and literally walked to the nearest welfare office. 

You can't prevent this because there was a Supreme Court case that said denying them the benefits limits the freedom to travel.

The natives may be poor but they are peaceful and friendly people.  Some tribes have bad reputations but I have 0 problem helping them out in a reasonable way.  Unfortuantely though, the drinking stereotype is true.

What about Arkansas?? Ask eb22, he's from New York and visited twice here. Lots of Yankees here from all over. I can promise you, if you like Chicago style anything, you will like the food, I hate it. No good pizza, bagels, or egg rolls, but lots of good Chinese food. I'm at the top in the middle.........on the Missouri border in the Ozarks. It's really REALLY growing in this area!

   Florida is a battleground ground state so if you move here, you are doing something to combat the problem rather than run away from it. The weather is usually nice here, you don't have to pay state income tax and you don't even have to do stupid emission and safety tests to certify your car as roadworthy.

   No place is perfect. The tap water also tastes horrible here and there are alligators in the lakes, but at least you need something to keep the homeless bums away.
