Obama to cuddle up to Muslims

Obama Plans to Renew Relationship with Muslims

(IsraelNN.com) Barack Obama, in an interview with the Chicago Tribune, says that his presidency is an opportunity for the US to renew its relationship with the Muslim world.

“I think we’ve got a unique opportunity to reboot America’s image around the world and also in the Muslim world in particular,” Obama said Tuesday.

The president elect also plans to use his full name, Barack Hussein Obama, at his inauguration. Obama’s opponents would evoke his middle name, a Muslim name, in associating Obama with the Muslim world. However, Obama is a practicing Christian. “I’m not trying to make a statement one way or another. I’ll do what everyone else does,” Obama stated.

I wonder why he and the dems cried so hard when people called him Hussein... Now he is being inaugarated with it... Oh the hypocrisy!

PS: I guess it is wrong for me to call a spade a spade, but a dem can call him a spade.

You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities
Duet 16:13-14

I'm not surprised.  But hopefully the Muslims will see him as the ultimate infidel--a Muslim who converted to Christianity.  Maybe they won't want to be his friend.

This is a collosal mistake.  The war against Islam is a zero-sum game.  Islam cannot be reasoned with, or appeased, or placated.  Their agenda is to make the entire world Islamic.  A president who is commited to "building bridges" between the west and Islam will only be enabling the muslims to wage war against us unopposed.

I think most Americans want peace with the Muslim world. They're afraid to fight such a large enemy (this is understandable) and they think that we can make friends with them and everything will be nice.

What we at JTF understand is that Muslims will kill infidels regardless of how friendly those infidels are to them. They may say they'll be the USA's friend if the USA abandons Israel, but they're liars! They will hate the USA until it either converts to an Islamic country or is completely destroyed as a nation. Furthermore if the USA abandons Israel then it will get God angry and bring curses upon the USA.

Obama hopes to reboot US image among Muslims
« Reply #7 on: December 10, 2008, 05:30:23 PM »
WASHINGTON – President-elect Barack Obama says he will try to "reboot America's image" among the world's Muslims and will follow tradition by using his entire name — Barack Hussein Obama — in his swearing-in ceremony.

The U.S. image globally has taken a deep hit during President George W. Bush's two terms in office, primarily because of opposition to the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, harsh interrogation of prisoners, the indefinite detention of terrorist suspects at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and mistreatment of inmates at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.

Obama promised during his campaign that one of his top priorities would be to work to repair America's reputation worldwide, and that one element of that effort would be a speech delivered in a Muslim capital.

He pledged anew to give such a speech, though he declined to say whether it would happen during his first year in office.

"It's something I intend to follow through on," Obama said in an interview published Wednesday in the Chicago Tribune and the Los Angeles Times. "We've got a unique opportunity to reboot America's image around the world and also in the Muslim world in particular. So we need to take advantage of that."

Obama said his message would be twofold: that his administration will be unyielding in stamping out terrorist extremism but also "unrelenting in our desire to create a relationship of mutual respect and partnership with countries."

"I think the world is ready for that message," he said in the interview, conducted Tuesday.

During the campaign, Obama repeatedly faced questions about whether he is a Muslim, particularly in whisper campaigns that noted his middle name, that his father is Kenyan, and that he lived for a time as a child in Indonesia. Obama is a practicing Christian.

Asked if he would drop his middle name during his inauguration on Jan. 20, the president-elect said he would not.

"The tradition is that they use all three names and I will follow the tradition, not trying to make a statement on way or another," he said.

Obama also talked about the spiritual support he sought during his White House bid, particularly since he and his family left Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ after inflammatory comments by its pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, became a campaign issue.

Obama said he set up a "sort of prayer circle across the country" of pastors who would pray for him every morning on a conference call. Obama said he sometimes joined the call, which involved leaders from various Christian denominations and other religious faiths.

"I'm not even sure that all of them voted for me," Obama said. "But they were willing to pray for me, and that's something that was wonderful."

On other topics:

_Obama would not put a timetable on issues important to organized labor, what he called his promise to "put an end to the kinds of barriers and roadblocks that are in the way of workers legitimately coming together in order to form a union and bargain collectively." Among other things, he has promised support for a card-check system for unions trying to organize a new workplace and for adding labor and environmental protections to the North American Free Trade Agreement. "I don't want to anticipate right now what sequences will be on these issues," Obama said.

_The man about to be the nation's first black president said he will make enforcing civil rights laws and making the criminal justice system color-blind top priorities for his administration. The Justice Department's Civil Rights Division "over the last eight years has had a lot of problems and really declining morale," he said.

_Obama said he, his wife Michelle and their two young daughters will make frequent visits during his presidency back to their home in Chicago, perhaps as often as every six weeks. "My Kennebunkport is on the South Side of Chicago," he said. "Our friends are here. Our family is here. And so we are going to try to come back here as often as possible."

He can call himself or let others call him Christian as many times he want, he will never be my brother.

P.S.:
He seems to be very confident, that he takes just now a part of his mask down. In my country the Socialist Schröder gouvernment did it part by part a few monthes after they were in office.

I don't consider Obama to be a fellow Christian as long as he pursues the policies he pursues which are in contradiction to Christian principles. Obama is the enemy and probably a Muslim.

Large enemy? Maybe, nothing a few nukes wouldn't take care of. Afraid? Not of the arabs, I'm afraid of the enemy within, the leftist traitors weakening and destroying our country. If we had the mentality in the USA that we had in the 1940's - 1950's we wouldn't be having this conversation, we'd wipe out the arabs inside of a half hour.  Can you imagine 9/11 happening in 1950!? Downtown NY and the Pentagon in flames!? We would have nuked! Now crippled internally, our response was feeble! America needs to "reboot" alright, back to the 1950's.

New Yorker and Rubystars you both hit the nail on the head. America is just not the same. I was lucky enough to catch the tail end of the real America. The America I remember from when I was a kid is the one you see in the old  movies from the 40's 50's and 60's. When I watch the old movies I love to study the people on the streets and compare them them to people today. Society seemed to be at a higher level back then and the people seemed to have their values in the right place. Its not that the people had more material things they actually had less but valued them more. Today everything is for the moment and nothing is indispensable. When I was a kid everyone though America was the best at everything and the funny thing is that in most cases it was. If you spoke out against the country back they you had better of had a good reason because in most cases you were in for a fight. Today its almost become fashionable to talk down the country. I now F.D.R is not popular here on the forum but when I listen to his speech the day he declared war on Japan it shows that even liberals had strong convictions about protecting the country back then. The speech to congress is one of the all time best presidential speeches ever made. Today the successor wants to make speeches in a muslim country. Would F.D.R have gone to Japan or Germany to make appeasing speeches? Until the American people return to old time values and elect people that will set policy like we had back in the first 2/3 of the last century America will not regain the luster it had in its hayday.
