There is a interesting book written by Christopher  Columbus, it is called "Book of Prophecies"

I believe what he said, that God spoke to him(Columbus) and told him the riches of the new world was to fund the last Crusade,  -Israel against the Muslims
As far out as it sounds, The new world,,the USA did just that, fund Israel.
God never told Columbus that the new world (USA) would fight the fight, He just said  it's wealth was going to pay for that last battle.
So anyway, me being a believer,in ; Chris did hear from God,
and also in the fact that God did say Israel will dwell alone,
I have to say Israel is independent, and now with Obama in the white house.
She has to be independent.
