This was written by Yekutiel Ben Ya'akov on The Kahane.org Forum in response to a Hebrew Torah lesson at The Cave of The Machpelah in Hebron, part of an on-going class on The Jerusalem Talmud sponsored by JTF.

Rav Elbah brought up an interesting point on today's daf of the Yerushalmi on daf gimel amud alef, The Gemarah discusses the halachic requirement to place a mark near graves so people know where there is tumah - ritual impurity. He brought down that according to one of the views brought down in Tosfot, it is a Torah prohibition "passed down to Moses at Sinai".

He also discussed how the need to place marks to navigate people around the bodies of the goyim during the final war of Gog and Magog. In answer of the question, "why would one need to avoid a dead gentile body as we are taught that it does not carry Tumah?", he brought down the view that in the war of Gog and Magog there wil be traitor Jews who will be on the side of the Goyim...

Rav Elbah paralleled this view to the war against Midyan, where the midrash clearly states that there were Jews buried along side the gentiles that they had deserted to aid in the war against their fellow Jews...
