Rabbi Noach Weinberg of blessed memory has just passed last week. He had been struggling with lung cancer for the last few months. He was the head Rabbi of Aish HaTorah, a outreach Yeshiva in Israel which does much chesed. Aish has been on my Tzedakka list for many years.

Rabbi Weinberg will be missed greatly and his Torah will be taught for generations.

You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities
Duet 16:13-14

What a loss...

Aish haTorah outreached not only in Israel, but also in the former Soviet Union.

I first learned about Jewish wisdom at Aish haTorah college in Minsk, Belarus.
It is their merit that I am religious now.

May the memory of Rabbi Noach Weinberg be blessed.
