Towards the end of last year, I visited my sister and her Belgian husband. He and I went to Antwerp on a Saturday (he is a Professor at the University there), and he took me through the Jewish area. This was the first time I had seen the Shtreimel in all its glory - what a sight!. I noticed the men were wearing white trousers or leggings/spats. Why was that?
