Imo the ecclesia and Israel are two different things with different revelations. Of cause there is a intersection in the members, which lies in the nature of the issue.
But it is not true, that the ecclesia is the replacement of Israel.
I think this guy Alexander quoted an article from Holman Bible Dictionary that tries to proove with
Rom. 9:6-8;
Imo Paul means here with "Israel" Jacob like is written in Genesis - it is only a historic summary. Paul uses it to proof the teaching of predestination.
1 Cor. 10:18-21;
This is obviously only an allegory. Paul doesn't mean here, that in the temple in Jerusalem are demons and the Jews are demon worshippers, but he compares the Christian last supper with the sacrifice in the temple in order to explain his readers that they are not allowed to take part in pagan sacrifices and cult meals.
Gal. 6:16
Read the line before 6:16. There is explicitly written, that Christianity is a new part and not the replacement of the old.
Did anybody know this "Holman Bible Dictionary"? I have never heard of it.
