Freeman is not necessarily a Jewish name. And I have a feeling that if he were Jewish, it would have been noted -- simply to deflect criticism of him as being personally anti-Jewish (as if that can't happen).
Okay, I just checked the internet. His full name is Charles W. Freeman, Jr. And he's not Jewish.
In today's New York Times, I came across this headline:
"Israel Stance Was Undoing of Nominee for Intelligence Post"

What they should have written was "Freeman's Idiotic, Irrational and Prejudiced Stance was his own Undoing". Do you see what I mean? Do you see how the Times slants things? Of course, this is a known fact about the New York Times.
