Well, every time I have called 911, they always have come running...to save the day...

Any time I've needed protecting, they have done it....

I guess my experience has always been a positive one.

They are public servants and put their lives on the line for us ALL each and every single day.

Without them around I cannot imagine how life would be here.

The only thing the police ever did for me was kick in our door, confiscate my dads guns and slap him with a felony. They never bothered to help us when our house was broken into and taking their sweet time eating dunkin donuts and coming by 20 minutes later, or coming into our house without a warrant because they felt like it. About the only thing they ever did was use the badge and uniform as a excuse to commit the crimes and deal with the drugs themselves.

Again, I don't speak for all cops, this could be purely limited to Chicago, but I've seen enough of it that I really don't think positive about police. My cousin is a deputy sheriff, I even wanted to be a cop when I was a child until I saw what they really were like. That's just my personal opinion though.

I was going to ask if this was the NYPD but you answered my question when you said "Chicago".  It sounds like the corruption in the police department is on par with the corruption in Chicago politics.
