Shalom Chaim what do you think of a Pilagash

--- Quote --- There is a strong strand of rabbinic opinion (see Jacob Emden) that a
> sexual relationship (called "pilagshut") which is not a marriage, which is
> entered freely and equally by a man and woman, and which requires no gett,
> but only the decision of either party to dissolve it, is legitimate.

> it is important to teach that it is possible to shape a sexual relationship
> between two unmarried people that is sacred and holy. It is the organized
> Jewish community that sins when it refuses to join in shaping the ethical
> and ceremonial forms that would make this more likely.

--- End quote ---

Noahide:
Hello Chaim and thank you as always for your good work.

1.  In order to expel a large population from a host country (e.g. Arabs from Israel; Pakistanis from Britain), I would imagine that a mere proclamation would not be enough.  I would imagine that the government would have to make an example of a group of Muslims who had thumbed their noses at officials who had called on them to leave.  In other words, the government would have to lay hands on such people and force them onto planes to get them out.  If the Muslims dug in, the government might even have to open fire on them.  No current government would risk what they saw as bad publicity by taking such harsh measures.  However, I feel that Israeli and European governments should indeed take such measures, and do it openly and unashamedly: it would be on every TV in the world and that would surely show that they were serious.  In other words, a few beatings or even deaths would do much good and cause the rest of the Muslims to leave peaceably.

How precisely would a Kahanist Israel expel the Arabs?

2.  Sorry if someone else asked you this already, but what do you think of Senator Fred Thompson as a possible President of the U.S.A?

Lehitra'ot and regards from Noahide.

Chaim,

First, a joke to brighten your day:

Q: How many Kahanists does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: Zero - they will make Israel a light unto the nations!

Now for a couple quick questions:

(a) A couple weeks ago you paused to take a drink of water.  Before you did so, you recited what sounded like some sort of Hebrew prayer.  What was that?  Some of us here in the heartland do not regularly encounter Jews or Jewish customs and I was curious what this prayer or recitation was.

(b) I've been enjoying some of the old JTF shows on YouTube.  One question - why are you and David Ben Moshe always wearing sunglasses?  I know it's not to hide your identity because you have never been shy about sharing your opinions!

Scriabin:
Dear Chaim:

How do you feel about Ludwig van Beethoven?

Did you ever heckle Leonard Bernstein?
