Quote:
CNN guest commentator Wayne Slater from the
Dallas Morning News equated the Holocaust Museum killer to Tea Party Protesters yesterday.
NewsBusters reported:

Dallas Morning News’s Wayne Slater become one of the first pundits after the shootings at the Holocaust Museum on Wednesday to hint that there was a connection to mainstream conservative activists. On CNN Newsroom, about two hours after the story broke, Slater linked this incident and the murder of abortionist George Tiller with “anti-tax secessionists in Texas,” his label for Tea Party protesters.

SLATER: They absolutely need to be motivated and are being motivated. Each of these episodes in recent weeks- whether it’s [the] killing of an abortion doctor- whether it was this Holocaust denier today, or whether it was others- whether you’re talking about Tim McVeigh or anti-tax secessionists in Texas- the interesting thing is they’re all separate, but they’re all hearing portions of the same echo chamber, a kind of dialogue- a toxic dialogue that’s subterranean in large parts.

The Holocaust Museum killer James W. von Brunn hates Bush, McCain, neoconservatives and Jews.

What a load of BS...

This Von Braun nut was not a conservative... He was a Nazi anti-semite racist bastard. He shared nothing with conservative values. He was a nutcase for many years.

You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities

 Mr.Slater,

You have the right to free speech, as do I.

So I am going to use mine to say: You are an idiot.

Thanks

Von Brunn's wife said he hated Blacks too, and He shot the black security guard.  No one is safe from these radicals!

I think I read that the wife said she hated Jews more than blacks but he was only able to kill one before he was shot in the head. I would have popped his head a few more times just to make sure he couldn't kill anyone else. I guess they wouldn't let me be an armed security guard because of that. That is ok with me...

I wonder how many more of these aging Nazis and neo-Nazis are waiting for the opportunity to kill as many Jews as they can. It is a very scary world for Jews today and even though this is true I am still proud to be one of the few. I should be more scared as I openly observe my religion and I doubt people can't see this Jew coming from two blocks away. Still I do not have any fear when I leave my house for work in the morning. Those who know me respect me, and my religious observance.

But I know there are Nazis and Islamic nutcases out there. I am prepared for a confrontation with them, and sometimes I dream of this confrontation. It is a sad trait of mine that I hope that I can die Al Kiddush Hashem {to sanctify G-ds name}. This is the opposite of the Muslim idea of a martyr who kills himself in order to go to paradise. The Jewish idea is that when a Jew dies, because he is a Jew, and does not convert, and does not compromise the covenant which Hashem made with Abraham, that his soul will be welcomed in paradise. Many great Rabbis and many common Jews of Spain died at our tormentors hands in order to sanctify his name. I have told my Rabbi that I sometimes feel like this because I know my brother died in the WTC as a patriotic American, and a Jew. In some respects he will be memorialized as a hero by future generations and his name is on the 9/11 memorial.

I hope that all the Nazis and Muslimies plans are thwarted by Hashem, and their souls cast into gehinnom. Hashem has set up a special place for the wicked souls of Nazis and Muslims. When they try to carry out their perverted plans their evil will blow up in their faces.

Quote
Jews have never sought out martyrdom—it was always martyrdom that caught up to the Jews. Ever since Abraham was thrown in a fiery furnace by Nimrod, literally millions of Jews in every era of history have given up their lives rather than their faith at the hand of the Assyrians, the Persians, the Greeks, the Romans, the Muslim conquerors, the Almohadin, the Crusaders, the Inquisition, the Bolsheviks, the Nazis and many more.

In Judaism, martyrdom is called Kiddush Hashem—"the sanctification of G‑d's name," and a martyr is called kadosh—"holy." And yet, a Jew is not permitted to seek martyrdom, but rather to seek life and sustain life. True, the Talmud says of those who died al Kiddush Hashem that their place in the world to come is beyond the reach of any created being.1 But then, the same Talmud also teaches that, "One hour of return and good deeds in this world is more beautiful than all the life of the world to come.2"

The Talmud tells how Rabbi Akiva, arrested for the crime of teaching Torah in public, screamed Shema Yisrael ("Hear O Israel, G‑d is our G‑d, G‑d is one") as his skin was raked off his body by Roman soldiers.

    His students exclaimed, "Even now?"

Rabbi Akiva replied, "All my life I agonized over the verse, '...and you shall love G‑d...with all your life.' It means, even if they should take your life from you. I pondered, 'When will this come to me so I can fulfill it?'"3

Yet not only did Rabbi Akiva not wait for martyrdom to come to him, he ran and hid from the Roman persecutor as long as he could. Just as Jews throughout the Diaspora used every possible means to survive in the lands of their exile.

Getting conflicting messages? That's one thing we can pin down about Jews and Judaism: that there's nothing about them we can pin down. For almost every observation to one effect, you'll find another to the opposite. The same holds with martyrdom. It can be said that martyrdom is at once both the theme and the antithesis of Judaism.

You've likely heard a hundred times such statements as, "Judaism is an affirmation of life." "Judaism seeks redemption in the here and now." "We're not busy trying to get to heaven, we're trying to get heaven down to earth." All those are absolutely true. Yet, nevertheless, within that vibrant enthusiasm for life, you will find the martyr's heart that has sustained us at every point of our history.4

This guy was an elderly white racist kook.
And, his age is no excuse for his actions and/or beliefs.

But, I do think that there are far more Islamic Extremists than guys like this one,  who are actually lying in wait.
Just like the piece of trash who attacked the soldiers at the army recruiting office.
