There is a line from this book of the Prophet,

18 Wherefore came I forth out of the womb to see labour and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?

I have just about broken down into tears reading it ... surely this is prophecy for our times too.

Everything looks hopeless for us today.

Free choice is no longer sufficient.  The evil urge is too strong.  We need G-d's intervention, because world events are totally out of human control now.

Either G-d will save us through His intervention, or we are finished ... and to be born, brought forth for to see days like this?

I seriously question the value of being alive.
