Iranian Sejil missile threat

I don't like the news of the Iranians ramping up production of their 2000km range Sejil missiles http://www.debka.com/headline.php?hid=6175

If they are as accurate as claimed, they could simultaneously deluge airbases, army bases, power stations, oil refineries, radar stations, docks, Dimona nuclear center,the Bet Shemesh Jericho nuclear missile silos etc, each with a 1,000kg warhead.

The whole of Israel, including Zahal, would be paralysed from shock and fear, let alone damage and death: "The destroyer will suddenly be upon you!" (Sefer Yirmiya).

If the Syrians and Hizbollah joined in at the same time, with their Scuds, Fajrs  and katyushas, Israel would be unable to respond at all, apart from (nuclear) cruise missiles (which cannot reach Iran if fired from the Mediterranean) from its Dolfin submarines, of which there's maybe one at sea at any one time, Israel's finished ie if Israel doesn't preempt, she's doomed.

Israel needs more submarines and vertical take off jets as deterents. Though if the MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) concept is just what the Shiites dream of, they'll be of no avail!

The Iranians will go bankrupt if they tried to paralyze Israel though medium range missiles. As a conventional weapon, it is only good to attack specific, highly prized targets. And the Arrow II ABM should be able to intercept this missile.

This Iranian quranimals are extra dangerous. If they use special warheads, that split in the end phase it could make problems to Arrow.

The question is: if Hizbollah start firing rockets in to Israel again, just what are the Israelis going to do differently than in 2006? Especially if they start reaching deep in to the Tel Aviv region. The airforce alone can't stop Hizbollah rocketeers. Destroying the Lebanese infrastructure or a full scale invasion of Lebanon like in 1982 is out of the question. As is Israel letting off mini-nukes to purge the border region!

The poorly rated Israeli Chief of Staff at the time, Dan Halutz, an airforce man, recently said

The current Israeli Chief of Staff, Gabi Ashkenazi, is expected to perform somewhat better, but Israeli generals, with a few exceptions, are overrated.



In 2006, Bush had to rush in stocks of smart bombs and 155mm artillery rounds, as the Israelis were almost depleted.
What if Obama, who according to Islamic Law is still a Muslim, refuses to resupply the Israelis during a munitions crisis?

I suspect the next round will involve Syria and Iran, and then things could rapidly go Apocalyptic/End Times!

galileerat, you need more ammunition in your stocks. Then things like this will not happen so fast.

The war in 2006 was very short. In this kind of war this shouldn't happen. It is unprofessional.
