Albanian separatists arming terrorists

Serbian officials on Wednesday said that members of the separatist Kosovo Albanian police are smuggling weapons into Serbia’s tense south and arming their ethnic kin in order to foment violence.

Four people have been wounded in two separate recent incidents in Serbia’s south.

Senior police official Milorad Veljovic said Serbia has video footage showing the smuggling operation of Kosovo Albanian separatists.

A senior official in Kosovo’s Interior Ministry, Fisnik Rexhepi, dismissed the allegations.

“This is a politically motivated fabrication,” Rexhepi said. “It is the kind of rhetoric that was used in the days of Slobodan Milosevic’s regime.”

In its press news report, Associated Press did not quote a Serbian representative but went out of its way to get 2 sentences from an ethnic Albanian leader sympathetic to violations of sovereign borders of Serbia.

Associated Press says that Rexhepi urged Serbia to hand over any evidence to “Kosovar” authorities. Veljovic said earlier that Serbia will give the video to an EU law and order mission in Kosovo and demand action against those who were filmed.

Serbia’s south was the scene of a Albanian ethnic terrorism in 2000-2001 seeking to join Kosovo after NATO took it over and those countries declared it a country.

Tensions in the area have risen after two policemen were wounded in a grenade attack and a woman and a child were wounded in an explosion.

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said that Serbia expects full cooperation of the international community in fighting terrorism in the southern part of the country.

The police have a tape recording from the Velekince village in the Kosovo municipality of Gnjilane showing the loading of arms, ammunition and military equipment in Mehmeti’s truck.

Head of the Coordinating Body for Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja Milan Markovic said that “It seems that the objective of this terrorist act was to cause disquiet and to compromise the ability and capability of the state organs, and to intimidate the ethnic Albanian population and induce the Serb population to leave Presevo.”

Meanwhile, the so-called prime minister of Kosovo Hashim Thaci said in Pristina on July 14 that Belgrade had begun thinking about recognizing the independence of Kosovo.

“I think you are beginning to see some initial signs from Belgrade. I don’t wish to spoil this with any statements,” Thaci said.

Serbian Canadian:
Serbia needs to do what Israel did last year. If only they could. If only Russia had the balls to act and if they had acted in 1999, we'd have our country back. We have to understand that these animals will never quit until they have all of our territory annexed to their illegal independent state. And even then when Kosovo becomes recognized by most of the countries, they'll never be satisified until every last Serb is expelled.

Did you forget that we have lost it for 500 years?But at the end we had it back.In WW1 we lost it again,but we took it back.In WW2 we lost it yet again,but 4 years later we had it so sooner or later we will have it back.
