A six year old in Delaware was suspended for 45 days and sentenced to reform school for bring a pocket knife into school.

the problem with the school system in this country is not that we need more Charter Schools or and extended school day or year. It's that we need more qualified people in the classroom! we need teachers who have COMMON SENSE!!

Incredible, isn't it?
This little guy brought his Cub Scout's multi-use pocketknife to school.
And, the so-called "officials" want to send him to Reform School.

I saw an interview with his Mom.
And, needless to say, she was beyond shocked.
She stated that he is an excellent student who on many occasions (of his own choice) prefers to wear a shirt and tie to school because, he feels it is more appropriate for school.

Can you believe the idiocy of this school, it's board, and the officials?

This could have been remedied discreetly and easily.
The Principal could have taken the item, explained to the boy that it was not appropriate to bring to school, keep it in the Principal's office, call the parents at the end of the day, and return it to them later.
But, no, this was equated with an offense worthy of Reform School for a good little six year old boy.

It is scary what is going on in our schools....

This story really shows the the level of stupidity that resides in the teaching profession. Besides all the liberal claptrap that fills educators heads they don't have the common sense G-d gave a flee. They want want to suspend and send this little guy to reform school for 45 days never taking into consideration that the child was never in trouble before. They should have explained the rule to the child  held the knife in the office and asked the parent to come up and get it. Case closed.

Wow. When I was in the Boy Scouts and our troop would meet once a week (on school property), it was common for us to have our Boy Scout knives. It was a large room full of 60-70 kids with knives and somehow, miraculously, there were never random breakouts of knife fights and stabbings. But we as a society are so much more progressive and civilized today.
