You have a good point, Hannukkah is meant to commemorate Jewish independence and sovereignty in Israel, so what exactly do a foreign government and exile Jews celebrate ?

I don't find the menorah to be offensive at all. Actually it's very beautiful.

It's just a little strange that sometimes there are double standards. Christian symbols are often banned in public places so I just find it strange that other religious symbols are allowed.

It would be a double standard to ban only Christian symbols. But are you sure the ban is just on Christian ? I remember for example the statue of the ten commandments banned from an American court room. I think the ban is against god and theism.

There is an atmosphere that you either have to be pantheist like the white house and that "coexist" sticker, or an atheist.

Hashem will have justice on these abominations. For when you mock the Jewish people you mock Hashem himself. Chanukah is the remembrance of the victory of the small Jewish army of religious Jews versus the mighty greeks and hellenists. When they light the menorah in the white house it is a mockery of the principles of Chanukah and we know that Hashem will bring justice level for level, eye for eye, tooth for tooth.

 It is such a shame that Obama is allowed to make such a fool of the Jewish people. But then Pharoah was allowed to enslave us for over 200 years.
