TAMPA | A 33-year-old Tampa man was jailed early Monday after his 13-year-old child called 911 to report that the man was driving drunk, deputies said.

Late Sunday, police say Gary Joe Greer was at Morris Bridge Road and Cross Creek Boulevard arguing with another adult in his white Volkswagen as his 2-year-old and 13-year-old children were in the car.

The 13-year-old got out and called 911.

Hillsborough sheriff's deputies said Greer seemed impaired. He had bloodshot eyes and was unsteady on his feet and leaning against the car.

An arrest affidavit states that Greer refused to be interviewed but told deputies: "I'm drunk" and "take me to Orient," referring to the Orient Road jail.

Greer was arrested on charges of driving under the influence - his third DUI in a decade - driving without a license and two counts of child neglect. He was released Monday on $6,250 bail.
