In my church this morning...
« on: April 29, 2007, 08:38:06 AM »
... we were asked to pray for Palesti.nian Christians who are in a struggle at the moment. It was mentioned that Pales.tinians have been christians for 2000 years, and how they are fighting against "evil". Clearly the palestinians were being referred to, muslim scum

What does everyone think of this?

I'm not quite sure what your trying to say, was it being inferred that palest.ians are fighting the muslims that live amoung them, or that israel is oppressing the palestians?

I would imagine that there are at least a few real Christians in every group of people and those should always be prayed for. But, if there was clearly some misrepresentation of terrorists as christians that's a different story. Yes, the Bible says you should also pray for your enemies, but that would be a different type of prayer. G-d looks at your heart, not the amount of knowledge you have. I supported financially a Christian church in Europe while I lived there that in retrospect I shouldn't have, it was really a cult. But at the time I was misinformed. G-d still blessed me abundantly because he knew what my motives were.

You do realize that the Fakestinian Christians are immigrants who showed up far after Yeshu? Because the Arab-Muslim invaders of the eight century killed almost everyone who was in the area when they arrived.

Yehoshua? I'm pretty sure it's Yeshua, Yehoshua romanised to Jesus would just make no sense at all, Yeshua on the other hand makes perfect sense.

Jesus is Yeshu ("ישו"), in Hebrew, but that is in fact a shortening for "Yehoshu'a", written "יהושוע".

The first ever Christian Bibles translated into English referred to him as 'Jesu'.

Maybe the greeks wrote it like so and pronounced it as Yeshu....

WTH lol its still Jesus. :D

But it is a concern when wording is altered because the meaning could be slightly changed as well. One thing leads to another...

I'm telling you that his Hebrew name was "Yassis" like "Yassis Alayich Elohkayich Kimsos Chasan Al Kalah".  Then it would make sense why the greeks pronounced it the way they did.  There is no J in hebrew.

According to Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, Mord is correct, the Greek word was translated from Jehoshua or Yehoshua.

Yehoshua in Heb. means G-D'S salvation

Doesn't it mean "He will save."?

Yeshua simply means Salvation. The hey added makes it future. But the Y and H could be from YKVK.

I don'nt know my cousins name is Yehoshua i always thought it meant G-D'S salvation i'll ask my cousin
