You're right about that. You'd be trading with a bunch of turkeys instead of the whole world if you joined the EU.
Its all protectionist the EU. In the euro-zone even worse and bigger trouble. Look at Greece with danger of default and frequent rioting, Spain with 18.8% unemployment, Strikes in Ireland, Italy a mess, financial crisis in Portugal and 11% unemployment, Social Unrest in France... The list goes on. I am so glad my country hasn't got further involved by joining euro currency. If we had of done we would have even less control over our own economy and completely stuffed like above named countries, unable to change interest rates, devalue or anything.
I don't understand why many countries in europe after going through brutal regeimes in the past like Nazi and Communists, after gaining their independence long desired and thought for, are now so willing to throw it all away to Brussles and the EU. Maybe at some stage in the future the whole world and Israel will be in a time of trouble and forced into something like this for financial or whatever other reasons and will have another brutal dictator ruling them? The EU is history repeating itself... Babylon, Roman Empire, Nazis, Communist threat etc. The EU will ultimately lead to disaster and potentially World War III, that wouldn't surprise me, they have a history of it.
The two richest countries in Europe - Norway and Switzerland are not even in the EU.
75% of British laws come from Brussels, and the EU is now at the centre of everything done by government. Trade, Post Office closures, VAT, fuel taxes, immigration and farming are all controlled by the EU.
With the Lisbon Treaty we'll get an EU foreign minister and EU embassies, relegating the UK to Luxembourg's status on the world stage.
We now pay £45 million a day to be in the EU - propping up other socialist countries that are up a creek without a paddle.
The EU forces us to accept unlimited immigration from 26 other countries.
The failed Human Rights Act (EU law) is a criminals charter protecting criminals yet doing nothing to protect the decent hard working majority.
The EU president and commissioners who make EU law and run the EU are unelected dictators.
Nope, believe me it would be a very bad idea to join the EU and I think a simple cost benefit analysis like the Swiss did will surely prove the point. Israel I don't believe would ever joing the EU voluntarily as they are not stupid and they value their independence and freedom. The past has taught that the Jewish people need their own independent country "Israel" to protect them from the many that would do them harm as history unfortunately has shown.
BTW, Your picture inspired me so I copied it!
