Thanks for posting this Muman, as always, it was very interesting.  I have learned to really enjoy Shavuot the past few years.  This year, except for Lag B'Omer, I went without a haircut or beard/mustache trimming as part of the Omer season, mourning Rabbi Akiva's students and the plague.  Today I finally trimmed my mustache, getting the extra 'stache out of the way just in time for gratuitous amounts of ice cream eating!

Cecil B. DeMille has caused me some erroneous Torah belief before.  I get a good LOL out of it now.  But its still one of my favorite movies.
