Sex "education"
« on: June 25, 2010, 06:44:08 AM »
They want my daughter - just turned 11 - to have a "sex education" class.  They are going to show parents the video on monday and you can withdraw your child from the class (which I obviously will).

but they said it is, Channel 4's "Living and Growing," so I looked it up and found this -

Warning: sexual content

I was gobsmacked.  the people behind this cannot possibly think that it will reduce teen pregnancy, even if some idiots do believe it.  how can telling kids that sex is exciting, fun and what you do when you love someone possibly reduce pregnancy???  that is designed to sexualise children, nothing more, they want to corrupt society further.

I am going to wait and watch the whole thing to see if it is the same before I complain, but they are not going to know what hit them if that is the one.  hopefully I will be able to encourage other parents to protect their children.

what angered me most was that the arrogant teacher has already pressured the kids into watching it, telling them - without approval - that they really should watch it because of the numbers of 11 years old getting pregnant.  I called and complained to the headteacher, she has apologised and is going to check further - I am awaiting her response.

 >:(

I doubt most parents will go to the meeting, so they get to show it to kids by default.
so sad that they are showing this to children all around the UK  :'(

I don't have time to watch the video right now (going to work in 6 minutes), but I will say that I don't understand why they have to encourage them to have sex. Why can't they just heavily discourage them from doing so, then explain the consequences. Then they should explain the protection devices and the failure rates of each, while encouraging the kids to be abstinent until marriage as the ideal solution.

Parents should be teaching this; not schools.

Kids learn it from their friend anyways. Hell, I learned about it when I was four because my neighbor's dad left his porn video in the VCR and we watched that instead of Power Rangers (wondering what it was of course). True story.

OK... :::D
Boy that video that they want to show the school kids don't miss a trick.... This is a degenerate thing to show a 10 year old.... The school system should really be ripped to pieces for even presenting a video like this for parental review.

This sounds painful:

http://zeitgeistpdx.com/anti-rape-condom-developed-in-south-africa/918/

Dr Sonnette Ehlers is the woman responsible for the world’s first anit-rape condom for women.  The condom, which features teeth to dissuade would-be rapists, is called the Rape-axe.  Over 40 years in the making, Ehlers hopes this will help with the high incident level of rape in South Africa.

The design of the Rape-axe is such that when the rapist penetrates the female, the teeth within the condom latch on to his penis, making it impossible to urinate or flee.  The doctor also says that any attempts at removal will result in the condom latching on even tighter.

Ehlers is passing out 30,000 of the condoms in South Africa for the World Cup.  The hope is that the condoms will become popular and eventually lessen the amount of rape in South Africa and worldwide.

The article is vague .... A rapist is not going to bother with a condom so how does this item get into place.... In theory it would be a good deterrent then again I can just imagine how crazy the [censored] would get if one of the condoms were to clamp on to the family jewels.... Rape might turn into murder.

I believe this is a 'condom' a woman can wear to protect herself from being raped...

I saw this in the headlines on google news...

Ouch!

Fox story has more detail:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,594991,00.html?mep

A female condom with jagged "teeth" that grips a man's penis is the latest device developed to catch rapists in South Africa, CNN reported Sunday.

South African Dr. Sonnet Ehlers is distributing the condom — called Rape-aXe — for free during the World Cup, in a country with one of the worst rape rates in the world.

The condom is inserted by women like a tampon and its jagged teeth-like hooks inside attach to a man's penis during intercourse.

Once it grabs hold, only a doctor can remove it. Ehlers hoped this will help authorities to catch offenders.

"It hurts, he cannot pee and walk when it's on," Ehlers said.

"If he tries to remove it, it will clasp even tighter... however, it doesn't break the skin, and there's no danger of fluid exposure."

During the World Cup she plans to distribute 30,000 of the free devices. After the trial period they will be sold for $2 each.

"The ideal situation would be for a woman to wear this when she's going out on some kind of blind date ... or to an area she's not comfortable with," Ehlers said.

Critics suggest the condom puts women at risk of further violence from men trapped by the device and reminded women of their vulnerability.

Others accuse her of inventing a medieval device.

"Yes, my device may be a medieval, but it's for a medieval deed that has been around for decades," Ehlers said. "I believe something's got to be done... and this will make some men rethink before they assault a woman."
