Why just NASA? Really dangerous. Muslims oppose space investigation and even astronomical calculations. Their reason is that they think searching for accurate long terms ways of keeping time implies that the world would last for a long time, and they hope it to end as soon as possible with what they call the Final Judgement and resurrection of the dead (which is believed to happen after all "infidels" are killed, and specially after all the nations join them to exterminate the Jews). Yes, I know Judaism also believes in the resurrection of the dead. But Jews do not believe they have to exterminate any other nation to re-live the dead. And Jews don't believe the world would end with the coming of teh Moshiach. And Jews do not oppose other nations' reasearch. It is believed that Moshiach will heal all diseases. Have you heard any Jew opposing medical research on the grounds that Moshiach would make it needless if he comes soon?
Anyway, the point is that NASA is hearing Muslims. Even if Muslim opposition to space research were for a peacufull reason ( e-g if they hypothetically said that Muhhammad would come soon and reveal all space secrets, without implying a genocide), it's wrong and dangerous that NASA listens to a foreign religion. They don't even take Christians into account, being that Christians are a majority in USA. Since when do they need to guide their activities according to Islamic ideas?

Do you know that pre-Islamic Arabs had a quite accuarte lunisolar calendar with leap years and Muslims forbade it? Islamic calendar is only lunar and so has a seasonal drift in a cycle of about 33 years. It's said Muahhmmad said: "we cannot even read, how can we claim to know when to add an extra month?" and forbade it.
A Muslim site said that those who worry about seasonal drifts in their calendars are infidels who don't await the Final Judgement.
I had forgotten to mention what a member in kahane.org said some years ago. Muslims were upset when USA put a step on the moon because it was offensive to their religion.
It's really fishy that NASA is stopping research just to reach out Muslims!

This must be one of the moon-battiest (get it?) ideas ever hatched by an American administration.... Obama must really be trying to kiss arab donkey... And he is destroying any chance America has to remain a superpower in the world. And even if my suspicions were not true, and NASA only wanted to stop current reasearch and wait for some "moderate" Muslim countries to join in an international project, it's quite annoying. It would mean tha USA is feeling guilty for having a better technology and wants to be level with Arabs.
Both things are possible since Obama can be either a Muslim disguised as a liberal leftist, or a real paranoic leftist who does not want USA to look superior to Muslims.
