In an otherwise uneventful speech to the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations on Wednesday night, Prime Minister Netanyahu came up with this (Hat Tip: Gershon D).

But then, in an off-the-cuff remark to a question on Jerusalem from the audience, Benjamin Netanyahu dropped a hint that his government’s insistence on Israeli sovereignty over all of Jerusalem might not be ironclad.

“Everybody knows that there are Jewish neighborhoods in Jerusalem that under any peace plan will remain where they are,” Netanyahu said in response to the question read by the executive vice chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, Malcolm Hoenlein.

The implication of Netanyahu’s remark -- that other neighborhoods of Jerusalem may not remain “where they are,” becoming part of an eventual Palestinian state -- was the first hint that the Israeli leader may be flexible on the subject of Jerusalem. Until now, Netanyahu has insisted that Jerusalem is not up for negotiation.

While the prime minister surely did not intend the gathering under the aegis of the Presidents Conference to serve as his forum for opening up negotiations over Jerusalem, the impromptu remark before an audience of prominent New York Jews and a handful of elected officials cast a slim ray of light on what Netanyahu thinks might be the Israeli capital’s ultimate fate.

Hmmm. (Yes, I believe he would do it, no I don't believe he could get his coalition to go along, and he cannot do it without a Knesset vote).
You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities

He really has been very sickening  on the TV interviews since his visit to Washington the other day.... I hope much of what he is saying is for public consumption and not the actual plan of action...

I was gonna start my own thread on this subject but here is more on the subject from Aaron Klein, in my opinion the most credible reporter in Israel.  He is right wing but has no illusions about which way the wind is blowing.

To hell with Pipi.  I would have more respect for a left winger who was doing what he thought was right than scum like Pipi who knows better but values his job more than Israel.

Obama 'guarantees' no new Jewish construction
Palestinians satisfied with behind-the-scenes results of White House meeting

TEL AVIV – President Obama extracted a guarantee from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Jewish construction in most of the West Bank and eastern Jerusalem will be frozen for months to come, according to a senior Palestinian Authority negotiator.

Last November, under intense U.S. pressure, Netanyahu agreed to a temporary halt to new Jewish construction in the West Bank. The prime minister claimed at the time he would not extend the freeze beyond its 10-month deadline, which is set to expire in September.

Following his White House meeting with Obama Tuesday, Netanyahu sidestepped questions about whether he was prepared to extend the West Bank construction moratorium beyond the September deadline.

The hot new best-seller, "The Manchurian President," by Aaron Klein, reveals inside story on Team Obama and its members. Now available autographed at WND's Superstore!

However, the PA negotiator and other PA officials told WND they were satisfied with the Obama administration's explanation that the U.S. extracted from Netanyahu a concession that he would not allow any new construction in both the West Bank and eastern Jerusalem besides the main "settlement" blocks – meaning the towns of Ariel, Maale Adumim and Gush Etzion.

(Story continues below)

While Netanyahu openly pledged a 10-month freeze to West Bank Jewish construction, he has claimed he will not agree to a similar moratorium in eastern Jerusalem.

On the ground, however, there have been almost no new building projects in eastern Jerusalem for more than four months.

Staff members of the Jerusalem District Planning and Building Committee reportedly have been instructed by Netanyahu's office to halt their work.

The order followed a public spat with the Obama administration after housing was approved for 1,600 new homes in an already-existing Jewish community during Vice President Joe Biden's visit to Israel in March. At the time, the White House slammed the construction approval as an "insult" and an impediment to peace.

Netanyahu, meanwhile, said yesterday Israel is prepared to take additional steps to ease Palestinian movement in the West Bank, referring to the removal of antiterror roadblocks and checkpoints.

Previously, the removal of such barriers many times led to an immediate increase in terrorist attacks from those locations.

One day after meeting with Obama at the White House, Netanyahu yesterday repeated a call for a restart of direct negotiations with PA President Mahmoud Abbas.

Netanyahu said he was prepared to take steps including "additional easing of movements" and some economic projects.

"The point is, we are prepared to do them. But what we want to see finally is one thing: We want President Abbas to grasp my hand ... to shake it, sit down and negotiate a final settlement of peace between Israel and the Palestinians," he said.

Israel's Haaretz newspaper reported that Defense Minister Ehud Barak of the left-leaning Labor Party claimed there was more to the White House meeting than published. Barak told the Israeli newspaper Haaretz that Netanyahu had shown Obama that he was serious and was prepared to meet Palestinian demands regarding restarting talks.

The Palestinians have called for a complete halt to Jewish construction in the West Bank and Jerusalem as a precondition for restarting direct negotiations.

We all need to pray for Barack Obama, may the Lord provide him a safe move back to Chicago in January 2,013.

Who ever had any illusions that Bibi was not intending to divide Jerusalem?

Any such person is naive and gullible.  Bibi is part of the Oslo clan.

Wouldn't it be great if he was saying all this just to show the muzzies what taqiyya is REALLY all about? I say give them a taste of their own medicine!

What a Hitlerite scum. I remember how he zealously yellled not to divide Our Holy City during the so-called elections the same zealous way he cries out to eliminate the Jewish State now. A terrible Jew and a great liar.

Bibi is going to accept all of Hussein O's terms and create a terror state in Jerusalem, Judea, Gaza, and Samaria.

The very next day the missiles will begin raining down on Jews, and Hussein O. and the rest of the world will no longer be interested.

Having achieved "just and lasting Peace in the Middle East", they will simply be too exhausted to take interest in "separate and unrelated issues".

One week later, "the International Community" will demand Israel "tear down that wall", "disarm", and "end its provocations" against the new State of Faekestinia".

Netanyahu will meet the same fate as Rabin; thus creating a new "Martyr for Peace" with streets, parks, and a new national holiday named for him.

As with the martyred demi-g_od Rabin, any who refuse to celebrate Netanyahu's "greatest achievement" -- "A Just Peace in the Middle East", will be persecuted, prosecuted, beaten, and jailed - all of this ongoing as missiles and nail bombs explode in every Jewish neighborhood.

Netanyahu's "Martyrdom" will be the final nail in Israel's coffin; the dream of the CFR and Trilateralists and the Bilderburgers fulfilled.

The dismantlement of Israel -- if you're not for it, then you're an "enemy of Peace".
