Liberal radio talk show host Bill Press is stunned to find that 6 in 10 Americans lack faith in Obama.  Press says that just 18 months ago we all saw Obama as "the great hope" and believes Obama is getting a bad rap. "He has delivered on healthcare, he has delivered on jobs . . . we are now in positive job growth . . . he saved us from the brink of disaster," says Press.  See Hot Air.

Press also says he thinks that the poll results show more about the American people than Obama, because he thinks "that the American people are spoiled, basically spoiled . . . we are, as a people we are too critical, too quick to rush to judgment, too negative, too impatient . . . we want it all solved yesterday and if you don't I don't care who you are, get out of the way."

While Press chooses to believe Americans are spoiled, there's an interesting article at Politico today discussing middle-class and working-class Americans and the great class divide.  The article points out that instead of being "spoiled," that Americans are actually "deeply worried about their financial situation," according to an ABC poll from March of this year.

In fact, according to recent polls, these have been the voters that Democrats and the president have been losing over the past year as the economic stimulus failed to make a major dent in unemployment.

Now, these voters, according to recent polls, are increasingly alienated from the Obama administration. Reasons include slow economic growth, high unemployment among blue- and white-collar workers and a persistent credit crunch for small businesses.

Further, the growth rate of the "typical family income" has slowed "dramatically," and for men, it has actually gone backwards if you adjust for inflation.  No wonder Americans have lost faith in the president.
