I just came across this wonderful editorial @ Salt Lake Tribune
http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/opinion/50793972-82/iran-israel-nuclear-administration.html.cspIsrael not IranThe recent WikiLeaks release of secret U.S. State Department communications about foreign countries proves that Israel was right all along: Iran is the biggest threat in the Middle East. Arab leaders privately fear a nuclear Iran far more than they fear Israel (“Are Arabs suggesting that Iran be attacked?” Tribune, Nov. 30).
It is time that we stop letting Iran call the shots. It is time for the Obama administration to ensure that the sanctions already in effect are enforced and that new sanctions are enacted.
A nuclear Iran is not only Israel’s problem, it is a global problem, and this administration needs to stop letting Iran get away with stalling tactics while it continues its quest for a nuclear weapon. At this point, all options should be kept on the table — our security depends upon it.
We need to recognize and support Israel’s right to stand up for itself and ensure its security. I am tired of leaders who pardon Arab countries for atrocities and turn around and twist Israel into the enemy. Israel is our biggest ally in that part of the world, and we need to start acting like it.
