First Terror Attack on Israel from Egypt
« on: February 08, 2011, 11:53:35 AM »
Last week there was an explosion on a gas pipeline from Egypt to Israel. At first the Egyptians told Israel that it was an accident and not terror related. Reports coming out now indicate that it was indeed a terrorist act...

Egypt state television: gas explosion "terrorist operation" (Extra)

Al-Arish, Egypt - Egyptian state television said the explosion at a gas pipeline early Saturday in the Sinai Peninsula was a 'terrorist operation.'

One official quoted by the station said the 'situation is very dangerous,' and had yet to be contained, but stressed there were no reported causalities. The explosion occurred on a pipeline to Israel.

Video footage from the Gaza Strip, about 70 kilometres away, showed a huge smoke plume and flames erupting from the source of the explosion.

The television blamed 'saboteurs' for the incident, saying they had taken advantage of the country's ongoing political unrest.

Analysts believe militant groups are present in the Sinai, in part owing to the political grievances of the Bedouin population against the central government in Cairo.

Also, the export of natural gas at preferred rates to the Jewish State is controversial in Egypt, the most populous Arab nation.
You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities
