German officials said shots were fired "near or on" a bus carrying US soldiers Wednesday, killing at least two people.

 

An airport spokesman said shooting took place in front of Terminal 2 of what is continental Europe's second-biggest hub.

Frankfurt police spokesman Manfred Fuellhardt said the two killed were the bus driver and a passenger, and that one person suffered serious wounds.

 

He could not confirm whether any of the casualties were US military personnel.

Earlier, news agency DAPD reported two US soldiers were killed and two others wounded, citing Frankfurt police. There was no immediate information on further casualties.

 

The US Army Europe initially said it had no immediate information on the incident but was looking into it.

 

The German police arrested a 21-year-old man from Kosovo on suspicion of involvement in the shooting.

Note that the New York Times never identifies Uka as a Muslim, much less an Islamic jihadist, and translates his shout to "G-d is great," thus further obscuring the jihadist nature of this attack.
