In the early 20th century, true-believer Communists in the United States came to realize that they stood no chance in taking over the two existing dominant political parties in America.  They would not come to that conclusion in the early 20th century, with just one look at today's Dems.

This reminds me of the situation in Greece:  A people who have survived since the beginning of western civilization, against all manner of enemies (including Nazis and Muslims) are being brought low by socialism.  And to whom are the Greeks starting to turn?  To the communists ..... gad.  It's like seeing a patient dying from poisoning, and a doctor arrives with 'medicine' in the form of a stronger dose of the same poison.
