<< < (4/5) > >>

kahaneloyalist:
Dear Chaim,
Until 1966 Israel kept the Arabs and Beduins under military rule, why would the Israeli government end this policy, which while not perfect, at least kept the Arabs living in Israel under some control?

Chai:
Shalom brother Chaim.

Please give us a passover action story.

Became it is Passover I have 3 questions relating to this theme; if I may.

1. Does the torah mention anywhere the land of Israel is holy?

2.what torah source do people use to prove Israel is consecrated land?

3, If Israel is holy and G-d wants Jews to settle in Israel , why didn't Moshe use this argument in Numbers 32 when Ruben and Gad did not want to settle. The argument used by Moshe was that they nevertheless they need to fight with the other tribes.

Col ha Kavod
Chai

ps

Should we all get together like in the JTF meetings but to these locations in NYC for Israeli apartheid week like in the days of JDL ;no one seems to care but you and the JTF.

Kahane-Was-Right BT:
Shalom Chaim.    What type of Matzah do you have at your seder?

When you eat the "kezayit" portion of matzah after making the blessing on the eating of matzah at the seder, how big do you consider the kezayit to be?   Personally, I am aware that olives today are the same size as olives from thousands of years ago, and the proof is that there are living olive trees in the land of Israel which are literally 3 thousand years old and still produce olives which are the same size as today's olives we are used to seeing.  There are 3 basic sizes of olives for those indigenous to the land of Israel and area surrounding it.    All of these are way smaller than the massive amounts of matzah that my various hosts of the past few years' pesah seders have urged us to scarf down to satisfy the mitzvah requirements.  I really enjoy the seder but that is one thing that drives me nuts and takes away from the experience IMO and defeats the real purpose of the seder.  Have you encountered similar experiences with "huge kezayit mania" ?

Thanks
Wishing you an upcoming hagh Sameah

Gimatria:
Shalom Chaim Ha Tzadik!

Who is the most evil member of the British royal family? Is it William or his wannabe Haupttruppführer brother, the swastika-sporting Harry?

How did you react when you found out about Princess Diana's death? Do you think she and Doodi al Fayed are together now?

Should we celebrate when members of royal family die?

Is it true that Idiot Amin used to cook and eat his political opponents?

During Chag haPesach, do you eat "Gebrochts"?

Chag Sameach Chaim ha Tzadik,
Gimatria

PS I would love your commentary on the following NYNT article:
"Rabbi Lev Baesh and C. Andrew Martin affirmed their partnership last evening with a civil union ceremony at Congregation Shir Shalom in Woodstock, Vt. Rabbi Helen Cohn officiated."

Secularbeliever:
Shalom Chaim

Do you have an opinion of the late Milton Friedman.  As far as I know he was a traditional but non Orthodox Jew.  He was pro Israel and advised the Begin government on economic matters.
Clearly he spoke more about economics and liberty than religion.  I never heard him phrase the answer to a question in religious terms.  He was also fairly Libertarian.  I read his columns in Newsweek and his book Free to Choose.  I cannot think of any writing that had more influence on my way of thinking.
