However the United States handled Russia after its collapse they got a far better deal than if the shoe was on the other foot. If it was America that was in the position Russia was in I have no doubt in my mind they would have done everything in their power to finish us off. This country gave Russia quite a bit of economic support to get the Russian economy moving again. Thats the difference between America and many of the other countries in the world.

And yes, the Russians sold missiles to Iran.

But Putin is not stupid, and it's very likely that he sold the Iranians some
old, obsolete technology just to pretend as if he supports them so that
they continue to pay him for building their nuclear facilities.  The same
thing happened with Iraq---the Russians were building them a nuclear
reactor, which Israel destroyed just before it was completed.  I think
the Russians knew then and know now in advance about the inevitablity
of the destruction of such facilities, so they're simply trying to protract
this business as much as possible.

I guess you can call it short-sighted greed.
