Jewish members: What is wrong with our people?

I had to go to this luncheon today for a retired colleague who I hate, but got roped into. Anyway, there were 2 Jews not including me at the lunch and they were bleeding hearts. One claimed that she worked in her neighborhood library as a kid during the summer in a Jewish section of Newark (at that time), and when she checked out books, she slipped leaflets in each book supporting the March on Washington with MLK. I gave her such a dirty look, I only hope she saw it!!!!!! The other woman went to Iraq prior to the current situation there to protest any war there. She's also liberal toward Israel, but it seems that she supports it.

Aaaaaahhhhhh! Help jtfers. WTF is wrong with our people!!!!!!

You must find yourself some religious zionist Jews... They are around even here in California. I feel that I have swayed some in my community to be more right-wing... None currently openly say they support Obama...

When I once expressed my views towars the conflict in mideast and my support for Israel,   guess how he called me: JEWISH EXTREMIST!! He also claimed that Jews have no right to live in Israel because its for palestinians. I told him that he's a communist, and he agreed.

I grew up with many Jews like this who were knee jerk everything.  Zero critical thinking, just a lot of knee jerk reactions filled with vigor and no substance

And a vast majority of orthodox Jews used to be anti-zionists...
The state of Israel was created and defended by secular Jews, many of whom were even socialists. Most orthodox Jews refused to go and settle the land. Today a substantial proportion of them still refuse to contribute to Israel's defence and Israel's economy. However, they play a vital role for Israel's future by having large numbers of children and raising them in a Jewish manner.
What I mean is that, from a historical and sociological point of view, zionism and orthodox Judaism have not always gone hand in hand, on the contrary... Zionism, in the twentieth century, was mostly a secular ideology imbued with European-style nationalism.
